My name is Katherine Hackett, I am fifteen years old and an incoming sophomore at Rancho Buena Vista High School.
I am doing a summer leadership program with Indian Princess through the YMCA, and I’m organizing a charity event. I will hosting a charity movie night in the park on July 26th, and all the proceeds raised from the event will be given to Kesem.
When I was nine years old my mom died of cancer and I was introduced to Kesem. Every year, this organization hosts a free, overnight summer camp made possible by donations for kids who have or had a parent with cancer. The camp is all about creating “Kesem Magic” for us through experiences and friendship, helping us navigate that we are never alone.
Kesem means so much to me because I have met so many friends that have gone through the same thing I went through, and after high school, I would like to be a camp counselor for Kesem.
I hoping that you will donate money so I can reach my goal of raising $2500 for Kesem by July 31st.
Many employers offer a matching program for charity which will help me surpass my goal. Kesem is a 501c3 so all donations are tax deductible.
A minimal amount of the money raised will go towards helping me put on the movie event, but all the other money will go straight to Kesem.
If you would like to learn more about the organization go to www.kesem.org.
Thank you for supporting me and kids of Kesem!
