<div>Many of you may know me, some may not, but I’m Brittany Belda, likely known just by Belda to a lot of yall :) I’m here on behalf of one of my best friends, Justin Gilmore. 

</div>

<div>In April of this year, Justin and I went to a wedding together and he complained to me of some weird things going on; things like severe back pain, insomnia, things seemingly unrelated. 

</div>

<div>Fast forward about 6 weeks and this had progressed to some even stranger symptoms including some cognitive issues, like memory loss, problems with speech, and reading retention. Justin is a passionate engineer: a recent grad school graduate having earned his masters, he was finally able to enter the professional workforce after many years of continued education and hard work. He thrives on learning and loves solving problems.  Suddenly, he finds himself unable to string together simple sentences. We knew something more was going on here.

<div>On June 17th, Justin went to the ER and was immediately admitted to the hospital, where he had an MRI and various other scans. The following day, Justin was informed that he had bleeding in his brain and multiple cancerous tumors. Two days later, he underwent emergency brain surgery to remove the largest of the tumors, and the smaller one would have to be treated with radiation therapy.

<div>In addition to the tumors in his brain, he also has multiple cancerous lesions along his spine. We have since learned that these are a form of melanoma. Melanoma is deadly if left untreated, but thankfully has a high rate of remission with treatment.

<div>With the largest of the brain tumors removed successfully, Justin now faces radiation therapy in the coming weeks and months to kill the remaining cancers in his body. Throughout all of these devastating diagnoses and hurdles, Justin has been so strong. He’s incredibly resilient and has maintained his faith and his sense of humor despite all of this.

<div>We’re asking for your help now as Justin faces mounting medical bills as well as living and travel expenses. In addition to making sure his bills are covered, we would just like to be able to provide Justin with some financial peace of mind so that he can fully focus on health and resting. Every dollar will go towards his treatment funds, travel expenses, and cost of living. Thank you in advance!!! It means the world.
