In May of 2024, our youngest, Dahlia, was diagnosed with Rett syndrome. <strong>Rett syndrome is a mutation of the MECP2 gene. It affects brain development, which affects every part of a person's life, and causes a progressive loss of motor skills and language.</strong> The International Rett Syndrome Foundation has continued to put forth funding for research that has discovered better and newer types of treatment for individuals with Rett, and one day a cure. <strong>We would like to ask for your help in meeting our goal of $5000 to be donated directly to the IRSF by GoFundMe.</strong> We are thrilled to be helping the foundation that has done so much to support my family and so many more like it.
