<div>My dear friend <strong>Tony has been diagnosed with LGMD 2A Muscular Dystrophy</strong> over 17 years ago. It is a disease that severely limits his ability to walk, gain stability, and overall perform daily tasks. It progressively gets worse as you get older. He has now been faced with increasing physical challenges and a loss of independence which is getting worse. He lives alone. He has increased risks of falling as well as most likely needing to be in a wheelchair eventually. Daily he is in pain. It effects his whole entire body as well as affecting the heart muscle as well as many other things.

<div>Despite his challenges Tony always tries maintaining a positive frame of mind and continues to volunteer his time at the Long Branch Elks club and the IAMA in Long Branch. I personally have known Tony since I was in 4th grade where we met in Vacation Bible school and continued going through the Oceanport school system and Shore Regional together remaining great friends. He is such a great person and friend. He is always there for everyone when they need help, he will always will make you laugh even when he is in pain..He is extremely loyal. I can not think of a better way to try to help him than to start this Go Fund Me.

<div>Donating for Tony would be extremely beneficial and would allow him to purchase 2 pieces of mobility equipment. An Exoskeleton from Hypershell as well as a Terrain hopper mobility scooter. Both would significantly improve his quality of life as he copes with this debilitating disease. Unfortunately, the cost of this equipment is beyond his current financial means, and insurance does not cover this. The approximate cost for the Exoskeleton is $2,500.00 including batteries etc. and the Terrain hopper can go for approx. $19,995.00.

<div>The Exoskeleton is a piece of equipment that is not just helpful—it’s essential. It would allow him to lead a more independent life and have more stability and safety for his everyday living, not to mention help with his overall mental well-being, which is a daily struggle for him due to his condition. This would assist with helping him control his limbs and help him move safely around his home and outside of his home. The Terrain Hopper is another mobility device that will enable him to get around in adverse terrain. This will really help because of his difficulty walking. You can see both devices attached and you will see just how beneficial these would be to him!
