<div>Hello, my name is Hollie. My journey started in January of 2025. I started feeling like I couldn’t breathe, but the doctors could not find out anything and treated me for pneumonia, giving me antibiotics. Finally, in May 2025, I was admitted to Rose Medical Center, where I was intubated for 24 days in ICU and later airlifted to University Hospital. I woke up and found out that <strong>I have a rare lung disease called Pulmonary Alveolar Proteinosis</strong>. It’s where the protein in my lungs doesn’t allow gas exchange, causing surfactant to build up in my lungs, which requires lung removal to remove the fluid. I’ll never get rid of it; it’s always there, and there’s a five-year chance of survival.

<div><strong>I’m reaching out to receive help with ongoing issues and things that I have going on while I’m unable to work.</strong> Things are a little bit hard, and I’m just asking for a little bit of help. If there’s any way that you would be able to help me, I would greatly appreciate it, as I have a five-year-old and a 16-year-old that still depend on me. Being sick doesn’t stop you from being a mom, but it stops you from surviving. I thank you for reading my story and appreciate anything you can do.
