Hi, my name is Susanna.

During my trip to Tanzania last July, I had the opportunity to connect with various communities facing significant challenges, including the Maasai tribe. Some of the individuals I met became close friends, and this experience opened my eyes to the struggles they endure. I felt compelled to take action, especially after learning about a project they are eager to start—**Osotwa Lemaa Organization**.

The Osotwa Lemaa Organization is dedicated to improving the lives of local communities around Ngorongoro, with a focus on addressing critical social issues in underserved areas. The name "Osotwa" reflects their mission to promote connection, protection, and empowerment for vulnerable groups.

**Vision:**
The organization's vision is to create a world where widows and young girls can live with dignity, free from oppression and harmful practices, and are empowered to make meaningful contributions to their communities.

**Mission:**
Osotwa Lemaa's mission is to provide both social and economic support to widows, advocate for the rights of women and girls, and work toward eliminating harmful practices such as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) through education, collaboration, and community-driven initiatives.

The organization wants to operate under the belief that empowering marginalized groups leads to the upliftment of entire communities. By addressing systemic challenges and building local capacity, Osotwa Lemaa aims to foster sustainable development and create lasting social change.

**Key Project Goals:**
1. **Supporting Widows:**
The organization seeks to assist widows who are struggling with economic, social, and emotional hardships. Many of these women face marginalization, loss of property rights, and financial insecurity. Osotwa Lemaa aims to empower them through livelihood education, counseling services, and support.

2. **Eliminating Female Genital Mutilation (FGM):**
Osotwa Lemaa is committed to ending the harmful practice of FGM, which endangers the health and rights of women and girls. The organization works to raise awareness of the dangers of FGM, promote alternative rites of passage, and engage communities in preserving cultural values without inflicting harm.

This project is focused on the **Ngorongoro District**, particularly in an area called Engoile, and I’m excited to see the positive change it can bring to these communities.

The project will initially support 20 women. This small crowdfunding campaign aims to provide them with essential goods for survival, such as food, period pants, childcare items, and also to cover the registration costs of the NGO in Tanzania.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about this important cause and for your generous support!
