Donate to Help the Jose Ruben Salazar Family

Jose Ruben Salazar is a long-time, beloved member of our Lucca family. He’s worked tirelessly since just after we opened. At 13 years, he’s one of our longest-serving employees! He’s done it all over the years- prepared food, received products, scrubbed dishes and made the best guacamole for staff meals. Now it’s our turn to show him our support and love.

After experiencing stomach pain this spring, his wife of 55 years, Margarita, was diagnosed with gallbladder cancer. Since then, there have been numerous tests, as well as procedures and surgery. Margarita is recovering, but the treatment has been a great financial burden for their family.

Jose has always worked diligently to support his family. Four of Jose and Margarita’s children live in the Portland area with their own young families. They too regularly contribute a portion of their earnings to their mother’s medical bills; it’s too much for one family to do alone, and that’s where the Lucca community comes in.

Please join us in supporting the Salazar family so they can focus on what’s most important – Margarita’s healing and their family. All contributions will go directly to the Salazar family to cover urgent medical bills. Let’s show them how much love and support the Lucca community has for one of our own.
