<div>We are reaching out to our friends and family for support as I begin my fight against stage 4 Cancer.

<div>Four days before Christmas 2024, I was diagnosed by my gp with Stage 3 breast cancer with lymph node involvement. This news absolutely devastated my daughter Courtney and I. Then we were dealt another low blow, the passing of my mum on Boxing Day .



</div>



<div>Over the next 6 weeks we spent endless days at hospital appointments with doctors, surgeons, oncologist, radiographers and other specialists undergoing more ultrasounds, genetic blood work, mammograms, biopsies, CT, MRI and PET scans. This by far, has been the hardest time ever in my and Courtney's life, yet we still remain positive. And I'm determined to fight hard. As most of you know I have always valued my independence, but I really can't do this alone.

<div>Then on Friday the 7th of Feb 2025 my oncologist gave us more devastating news, that the cancer had spread to more lymph nodes and to my hip, spine, pelvis ribs, and chest wall. I was now a stage 4 with <span>no cure , just treatment to keep me comfortable and to hopefully give me some more time with my daughter and dogs </span>

<div><span>. I was immediately placed on pain patches and medications. The following Friday, 14th of Feb, I had another appointment to inform me that the cancer had spread to my liver also. The priority now is focused on the cancer in my spine. Urgent and critical treatment is required before further damage is done which could affect my ability in doing everyday tasks, and could possibly land me in a wheelchair.</span>

<div>Chemotherapy, radiation and targeted drugs will begin this week. We have a long rough journey ahead, but together, and with the help of friends we will stay strong.



</div>



<div>My daughter and I have already struggled emotionally and financially. Both of us having to take so much time off work for all these appointments. This go fund has been set up by Courtney and myself so we both do not need to worry about financial burdens to come, and so I can give my everything to fight this head on. Oncologist have advised I will be in treatment for life, this will include radiation, chemo therapy, immunotherapy, hormone therapy, lots of medications and a lot of surgeries (not all will be covered in the public system) and the purchase of equipment ( when the time comes) , hiring help around the house and hospital Parking fees. Unfortunately there is NO CURE for me.
