My sweet guinea pig, Little Puff, needs emergency dental surgery tomorrow morning to survive. Even though she's 7 years old, she's still bright, alert, and full of life. The only thing stopping her from living life to the fullest is that one of her teeth has grown over her tongue, causing a painful condition called tongue entrapment. Although this is a common issue in guinea pigs, without this urgent procedure, she won’t be able to eat and will likely pass away from starvation.
She’s already been seen by the vet, diagnosed with dental disease, and sent home with pain meds and syringe-fed food she struggles to take. Tomorrow’s procedure, an occlusal adjustment under anesthesia, will trim back the overgrown tooth so she can swallow and eat her favorite foods again!
Little Puff may be small, but she’s been a huge part of my family for nearly seven years. She’s not just a guinea pig, she's my best friend and comfort animal. We’re doing everything we can to save her life so she can continue on with her sisters, Pumpkin and Pips.
We’ve spent $408.73 on today’s emergency visit alone. Tomorrow’s surgery is estimated to cost $1,300, and honestly, we weren’t financially prepared for this. If you’re able to help, even if it's just a few dollars, it would mean the world to us. Every little bit helps give Little Puff the chance to live the rest of her life happy and pain-free.
Please consider donating or sharing. Thank you for helping us give Little Puff a fighting chance!
