<div>Since 2022, <a href="https://queercountrymusic.com/about-the-band/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Queer Country has been growing</a> on the Mendocino Coast. <strong>We craft our alt-country sound around our rich vocal harmonies, featuring them among a landscape that includes pedal steel, electric, and acoustic guitars; keys; banjo; drums; and bass.</strong> Our work goes beyond our music: we are dedicated to advocating for and cultivating our LGBTQIA2S+ communities while bringing all people together through Understanding, Love, Awareness, Inclusivity, and Solidarity.

<div>Since starting this project, <a href="https://queercountrymusic.com/past-shows/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">we’ve been honored to play</a> numerous local venues, a couple local music festivals, and even a gig down in the Bay Area! Whether you’ve been with us since our first show as Abraham &amp; Quinn, saw us first as the trio Queer Country after Matt joined, or started following along more recently since we realized our full sound after Reyna Cinnamon joined us in June of last year, we are so grateful for your loving support. It is and has always been our honor and pleasure to work to create a new and unique sound &amp; space for you.

<div>At shows and in the community, many of you have asked us where you can find our music recorded. We have dreamed of having an answer to this call, of finding the right opportunity to make a record that will really be from Queer Country—reflecting both the breadth of our sound and the social spirit that drives us.

<div>To this end, <strong>we are beyond excited to announce that we will be making our first record in May 2025!</strong> Collaborating with Executive Producer Jah Work, we have been given the incredible opportunity to work with <a href="https://www.discogs.com/artist/196031-Oz-Fritz?srsltid=AfmBOopnSgiDL9SgTpg0MCX1HZIGfJQh-vzHjxY5aNm5Oaxru1HCIDaa&amp;superFilter=Credits" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Grammy-winning sound engineer</a> and all-around <a href="https://oz-mix.blogspot.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">fascinating human Oz Fritz</a> (Tom Waits' Alice &amp; The Mule Variations, Iggy Pop, The Ramones) at <a href="https://www.ancientwavestudios.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ancient Wave Studios</a> in the Sierra Foothills over Memorial Day weekend. Oz will be recording, engineering, and co-producing the project. <strong>We plan to lock in and work hard to produce an EP of four to five of your favorite original QC songs to be released later in Summer 2025!</strong>

<div>Oz and Jah Work have collaborated for over 20 years to record music from many spectacular artists including <a href="https://sgtsplendor.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sgt Splendor</a> feat. <a href="https://ericmcfadden.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Eric McFadden</a> and <a href="https://katevargas.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Kate Vargas</a>, Eric McFadden, <a href="https://www.wallyingram.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Wally Ingram</a>, <a href="https://kebmo.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Keb Mo</a>, <a href="https://lesclaypool.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Les Claypool</a>, <a href="https://petesears.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pete Sears</a>, <a href="https://juan.benharper.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Juan Nelson</a>, <a href="https://widespreadpanic.com/band/daveschools/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Dave Schools</a>, and <a href="https://soundcloud.com/bravomax" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bravo, Max</a>! They are both honored and thrilled to be going into Ancient Wave to capture Queer Country's first record.
