<div>Our mom, Chris LaBelle, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer, as of November 2023. She went in for her first routine colonoscopy in October, only to find an area of adenocarcinoma. They performed an ascending colectomy; thereafter, confirming 10 positive lymph nodes, as well as involvement into the peritoneum. She began her chemotherapy at the beginning of December, which was halted due to cardiomegaly and vasospasms. She recovered swiftly, and chemotherapy was resumed, but unfortunately has paused again for financial and insurance reasons. She has currently completed 2 out of 10 chemotherapy treatments.

<div>Chris was born and raised in Whitman, Massachusetts, moving to Charlotte, NC upon completing her nursing degree. She has been working as a registered nurse for 31 years, ranging specialties from med-surg, telemetry, step-down, ICU, PACU, LTAC, to NICU. She has 3 kids and 2 grandchildren. Her oldest, Ryan, is currently serving in the Air force - middle, Samantha, works as a psychiatry PA - and youngest, Shannon, works in addiction treatment as a counselor. My mother continues to work two jobs on the frontlines, as a nurse, while going through chemotherapy in order to continue this journey. She currently works on a med-surg unit in GI &amp; renal, as well as working for an anesthesia practice. We are asking for donations to help alleviate this financial burden, with the hope my mother might be able to take additional time off throughout chemotherapy. Anything you can afford to give is greatly appreciated, including thoughts and prayers.
