<div>Those closest to us will know that the last five months have been really traumatic. Despite a brain seizure, losing most of his mobility and numerous A&amp;E visits, our dad was left with an undetected, untreated and life-threatening spinal infection. Having already spent five months (since Christmas Eve!) in numerous hospitals, an eight-hour emergency operation and a period in intensive care, he has been diagnosed with a severe spinal injury and continues to be treated in hospital. The road to recovery is still a long way off, with our dad currently being unable to walk.

<div>Research (&amp; the ward doctors) tells us that the first 12 months following a spinal injury are predictive of a person's full recovery. We therefore want to give our dad the best chance to walk again and the best quality of life whilst living with a spinal injury. To do this we hope to raise money for specialised equipment and facilities to adapt the home.
