Hi, I'm Kyler. Through my healing journey, I decided to turn my past MESS into my MESSAGE.

On October 01, 2024 I am celebrating 2 years Alcohol Free! That is 730 days. I will be doing a long form triathlon to celebrate and raise funds to help others.

730 days therefore...

I am committed to raising at least, if not more, $730+ towards a local non-profit helping hurting people.

Many of you reading this have been exposed to addiction. Whether that be personally, through a friend, or a family member. You know the destruction that it can cause for that person and everyone around them.

Addiction comes in many forms for different people.. alcohol, drugs, food, binge eating, caffeine, social media, shopping, our phones, cannabis, tv / games etc.. most of us experience addictive tendencies on some level. Some worse than others. Some people get out quick, some struggle for years or a lifetime.

Addiction is typically the coping mechanism for past drama, trauma, and/or mental health in general. It's a cover up, mask, and suppression tool. Most people don't learn how to process our emotions healthily therefore turn to self medication of some sort (like the list above). This can be dangerous but there is HOPE.

My message has and always will be that your PAST does not equal your FUTURE <3.

You're not alone and there is always way out. You don't have to suffer in silence.

What I've learned through vulnerability, speaking out and sharing my authentic self is so many people walk the same path. Different situations, same path. Not just addiction specifically but mental health, emotional health, spiritual health etc.

And through conversation and connection, we can all begin to find healing. We begin to understand we are not alone. In our hardest times we are granted the opportunity to cultivate our greatest strengths and then be of service to others. We learn that there is love, support, and healing.

I'm raising money to benefit the Resurrection Recovery Resource Society (Freedom's Door). This is a local non-profit to Kelowna dedicated to helping men find freedom from addiction in a safe and secure environment.

I have not been to this organization personally but know of people who have. I also know they have helped over 1800 men transform their lives since 2002 and create a ripple effect for their own family and lives of others. Any donation will help make an impact. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me and countless others :)
