Donate to help Lucy beat cancer

Hi, my name is Olivia i’m 16 years old and i’m fundraising for my mum. In the last month my mum has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Luckily the lump was discovered fairly quickly and we were able to get a diagnosis however the cancer has spread to her lymph nodes which are glands in the body which protect the immune system. This means that a lot of treatment is needed in order to get rid of the cancer. At the moment we know that my mum has to go through the chemotherapy process for atleast 6 months and will also need a mastectomy where they will remove her breast if chemotherapy is successful. It’s been an extremely hard month for myself, my mum and my family and unfortunately due to the cancer spreading to the lymph nodes my mum is unable to work until after treatment which could be for up to a year long. The reason she cannot work is because she is at extremely high risk of catching germs and bacteria as she is a primary school teacher and her lymph nodes are not able to fight any infections or bacteria which enter her body. If she does catch anything she will not be able to undergo chemotherapy. since the diagnosis my mum has already been in hospital for nights due to having an ever so slight increased temperature. This really shows the extent of the situation and the importance that she stays mostly at home to avoid getting any more ill than she already is. The reason i would like to raise money is because my mum is a single mum and her job is the only source of income for our household. Due to not being able to work for the next year her income is going to be massively decreased in september as she is not working and with the cost of living constantly increasing this consequently will cause a massive struggle to pay for bills. Both me and my sister have jobs and are trying our best to help out. I’m going to be doing a sponsored walk from my house to knole park in sevenoaks which is around a 3 hour walk there and 3 hours back again. My friends will be joining me on this walk on the 9th of July and it would mean a lot to me and my family if any funds can be raised to sponsor us on this walk to help out for my mum. Any amount donated will be highly appreciated as the current goal is £5000. I want to say thank you to anyone who helps out as it will make our lives a lot easier and help my mum towards a speedy and less stressful recovery. Whatever money raised that is not needed for us we will be donating to Macmillan cancer charity to continue to help those who also have cancer.
