A few weeks ago, the families received calls. "Lily has a lump, and she is at CHOP with Billy and Erin. Please pray, ask everyone to pray"
Everyone prayed. Within days they received a diagnosis, and Lily would begin treatment.
Lily is 3 years old, and she has Lymphoma. She has been undergoing chemotherapy. A very loving, caring family just got their lives flipped upside down.
Days are filled with travel to and from CHOP , treating, testing, listening to nurses and doctors and coming home to let Lily rest.
The boys (my boys, as she calls them) still need to get to school and activities. Family and friends step in, arms stretched out, asking how they can help. We all ask, what can we do?
It's nearly impossible to think about anticipating one's own needs as one struggles to process at an emotional time.
Asking for help is not on the list. This is when we show up and anticipate their needs for them. Meals, groceries, cleaning, and rides for Lilys brothers as they grasp at normalcy.
The amount of unpaid time from work will affect their income. In addition, as medical bills will accumulate, deductibles paid for each treatment, gas to and from CHOP will add strain and could have a negative impact.
This fund was created to ease the burden of expenses and benefit Lilys family. As we contribute and share we will lift them up they will feel and see the outpouring of love and kindness. We will help them remain optimistic and show them they can lean on others for strength and support.
"Lily, you have brought a light to our family that we were missing, but didnt know it.
You are sweet, goofy, loving , tough and too smart.
Continue to be strong and independent but never forget to be caring to others.
We love you little lady."
This was a message from Lilys mom on her second birthday last year. I dont know if she knew how important these words would be.
Please pray for Lily's Strength and consider donating or sharing this with others to receive all the Love for Lily we can.
Thank you beyond words.
