'Dear Friends,

My name is Lama Shamallkh, and I am asking for help during one of the most difficult times in my family’s life. Due to the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, we have been displaced multiple times in search of safety. Our home has been bombed and completely destroyed, and I have lost my education and not completed it.

My husband lost his job and our lives have been turned upside down. We now find ourselves with nothing in Egypt, struggling to meet our basic needs and provide for our young children. Every day is a battle for basic necessities and stability. When my children ask for toys, or food, it breaks my heart to not be able to provide for them. All i can wish is that I can treat my son provide my family with their basic needs.

Meanwhile my family members are still stuck in Gaza. Since our home has been bombed, they are homeless and living on the street. There is no food, clean water, cleaning materials or even tarp to make tents. My family is stuck on the street living 100m from other people, and paying USD$150 a day to stay there. Raising money for them to live in a caravan or improve their conditions is critical for their lives.

Therefore, we are asking for support for my family stuck in Gaza, for them obtain food, clean water, basic supplies and better living quarters. Wr are also asking for your help for my family and I who were able to relocate to Egypt, secure a home to live, access essential resources, and rebuild our lives from scratch. Living costs are extremely high and it is a struggle to live dady by day. Your generous contributions will make a huge difference in providing us with the hope, change my family's situation and provide the stability we so desperately need.

Binya Ahmed Shimau is organising this fundraiser from Australia to raise funds for basic needs, essentials and relief for Lama Shamlakh and her family trying to rebuild their lives in Egypt, and her brother Mohammad and their family to survive and relocate out of Gaza.
