Donate to help Kevin’s critical care

Dan and I are fundraising to raise veterinary funds for our puppy Kevin.

Kevin is 6 months old and until 28th April has been a perfectly healthy dog. Without any warning we noticed him looking lethargic and immediately took him into our local vets. Within hours he was crashing and we had to take him to a specialist vet hospital. He has been in the Intensive Care Unit ever since.

Kevin’s immune system had been triggered by an unknown cause. His immune system went haywire and began attacking his own fat cells and causing him to spontaneously bleed all over his body.

We were told that Kevin’s only chance was to put him on high doses of steroids and to wait. Kevin has fought so so hard to become more stable over the past few days. Having had his case described as “complex” by the anaesthetists from day 1, he is finally starting to move without being in pain. Everyday he is starting to look brighter and we are finally beginning to hope that we may get our beautiful puppy home.

We now find ourself in a position where he is starting to get better, but our funds are depleting. Kevin was insured but we reached the cap of his insurance on the day he was admitted. Since then we have been privately funding Kevin’s care costs which have already reached over £10,000.

We will do whatever it takes to give Kevin the chances he needs to get better. He has pulled through the most difficult part but his care needs to continue for the next few weeks otherwise he will not survive.

Kevin is the dog we have been dreaming of for the last 4 years. We love him so much, this process has been the most painful thing we have ever been through. He is such a wonderful little puppy, his super-power is making everyone fall in love with him. If you can spare anything to help us keep Kevin’s care going, we would be more grateful than you could ever know. He is our world.
