Unfortunately when I started this go fund me I thought Kevin’s fight was going to be much much longer, Sadly Kevin lost his battle last week.
Kevin fought to be here for as long and hard as he possibly could. Whilst we grieve this unimaginable loss to our family, it’s with extremely heavy hearts that we reach out to you for support, for his wife and children.

My name is Tammarra, I have decided to reach out and try to get some help for our much loved brother in law Kevin and my sister Vanessa.
Ive pondered on so many things to
write and try to put it in so many different ways, maybe the words don’t come out properly when your still trying to believe what you have to write.
For those of you that don’t know Kevin, Kevin is a spring chicken of (48 years old today). Kevin has the ability to make you laugh even when times are tough, he is a caring, compassionate and resilient with a heart of gold.
Kevins an adoring husband and a much loved Dad/Step Dad and a huge part of our family.

Kevin’s worked hard his entire life and always provided for his family and has always jumped at ways to make ends meet.
Kevin and Vanessa have been together for 11years, finally tied the knot a year and an half ago with a small ceremony in Kuitpo forest. Whilst they should be planning their lives together and looking at what the future holds.
There future to have children together and go on a honeymoon ( which was put on hold due to work commitments and putting others first)
the dreams we all have as happily married couples has unfortunately been taken away.

Unfortunately about 2 weeks ago Kevin was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung cancer, the doctors believe he may have already had the cancer for anywhere up to 12 months but also could of lived with the disease for most of his working career. Unfortunately the Cancer Kevin has Mesothelioma, comes from working with asbestos. The diagnosis isn't looking promising, the cancer has spread to his heart most recently and has already seen long stays in hospital and has most recently had Kevin in hospital for Christmas and New years. The doctors will be starting Kevin on a very strong course of chemotherapy and radiation in the hopes to keep the cancer at bay and at-least shrink the tumours and get Kevin to a comfortable stage.

While Kevin is undergoing the treatment he is still going to have all the regular bills coming in, what we are hoping is this fundraiser will help ease the financial burden of this life changing diagnosis that Kevin has received. Vanessa is working hard at trying to keep everything together whilst also trying to be there for Kevin at the same time, this illness puts them
down to one wage and puts a lot of finical stress on the household.
To make matters worse the rental that they rent from have been told they may not be renewing the property for lease as they may be selling the property.
Every donation will help no matter how big or small. Your kindness is a gift greater than any words can describe. If you aren't in a position to help at the moment we would be most grateful if you could share this page.

‍♀️Hi everyone,
First of all we want to thank each and every one of you for showing us your love and support, from donating to sharing and your positive words wishing Kevin all the best in his and our journey.
A lot of you know Kevin as funny and loyal, the type of man that would help anyone that he could.
Over the yrs Kevin has showed me what a healthy relationship is, to truly be loved unconditionally without any judgement. Kevin has always supported our family and gone above and beyond to put us before himself.
I met Kevin at a time I really needed love and security. From that day he has been my rock, the amount of times he has 3 me through situations I thought I couldn't handle. To have Kevin by my side was all I needed, encouraging me to be the best version on myself. We have always been inseparable, since day one from the 1000s of calls each day to working together multiple times in different companies. Where ever I’ve gone Kevin's always been not far behind.
Some people go there whole life without meeting there soul mate and 11yrs ago I found mine.
As I’m writing this he is asleep in his hospital bed after his second radiation treatment and I can't help but to admire how strong he is and truly my perfect match. Kevin is so warn down and his number 1 concern is, is how I’m feeling and how our the kids handling this? Where does this strength even come from?
I wake up every morning thinking that it was a terrible dream only to realise this is actually happening to the love of my life. The plans we had to grow old together to travel to have another child has been cut short, we've always put others first without realising that was the precious time we needed. Out of nowhere, thinking he had a torn muscle to being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.
Its taken a month to even try to comprehend how and why this has happened to such an amazing man, who deserved the world not this.
Our hearts are shattered but we will not give up hope, this last month Kevin has only been home for roughly a week he has had multiple surgeries to put drains in for days on end to take fluid out, anywhere up to 4 litres at a time. To having an operation to stick his lung to the side wall of his chest, which we've just found out it didn't completely work and he is back on drains.
He now has a infection in his lung and just recently was rushed into icu in the middle of the night, which he told the nurses not to call me as I needed rest, how selfless is that (he did get a stern talking to for that one) we are praying with all we have that radiation will work well and give us more time together as a family.
From the bottom of my heart I am so thankful for everyone, To each and every one of you who has checked in on us and have come to visit Kevin as I'm still trying so hard to juggle work, to keep our household going whilst trying to be there day in day out for Kevin and the kids.
We really appreciate visits phone calls ect whilst I'm not able to be here with him.
We very rarely except help but sometimes you have no other option, when your whole life has been turned upside down.
Again Thankyou,
with love Vanessa ‍♀️
