<div>Eliana Hone was born with CASK gene disorder, an extremely rare genetic disorder that causes both neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative damage in her brain. She suffers from cerebral palsy, epilepsy, scoliosis, metabolic problems, and complex communication challenges. Eliana requires extensive ongoing physical and occupational therapy, which is thousands of dollars every month.

<div>Eliana's father Jason has been living with crippling back pain after he was run over by a truck on the job and then later trampled by horses. Just before Christmas 2022, he received an emergency back surgery. While already struggling to work and losing precious income needed to take care of Eliana, his wife, and three other children (including a baby), Jason was working in his backyard when suddenly a can of gas exploded into flames severely burning his face and hands.

<div>Jason was rushed to the emergency room where he also learned that the issues in his spine were more severe than they thought and that he needs emergency surgery to prevent paralysis (which could happen at any time). Due to metal allergies and insurance issues, the surgery he needs may require travel to Europe and completely out-of-pocket expenses of up to $93,000.

<div>Additionally, the severity of Jason's burns required him to be transferred to a burn center out of his insurance network. The anticipated costs are unknown at this time.

<div>This family is under an immense amount of financial stress as Jason fights to recover, while also needing to tend to the extensive needs of Eliana. I am a close friend and neighbor of the Hone family and I'm raising the funds to help them pay for surgery, Eliana's therapy, extensive medical bills, and other necessities such as food and housing while Jason is recovering.
