<div>As many of you know, Decklan is the beautiful, smart, and incredibly strong little boy of my best friend and sister-in-law, Shaelyn.

<div>On Tuesday evening, Shaelyn and Decklan’s family received the devastating news that Decklan has a large tumor in his brain. It’s been causing a number of difficult symptoms, and he’s now facing a very tough road ahead. He and Shaelyn were airlifted to the IWK, where they are in the best possible hands with an incredible medical team working hard to keep Decklan safe, comfortable, and confident. He is brave, resilient, and already showing strength beyond his years.

<div>At this time, information is still limited—more tests are underway, and a major brain surgery is scheduled for this Friday. Doctors have told them to expect to stay in Halifax for at least a few weeks.

<div>Both Shaelyn and her fiancé Dustin run their own businesses and will be stepping away for the foreseeable future to be by Decklan’s side. Being away from home, work, and their support system while managing travel, meals, accommodations, and medical costs will be incredibly difficult.

<div>Any financial support during this time would mean the world to them and help ease the burden as they focus fully on Decklan’s recovery and care.
