Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Supporters,
My daughter, Danielle, is a dedicated and high-achieving honor student currently studying for her Bachelor's degree in Social Work at Sacramento State University. She's earned a spot on the
Dean's List thanks to her commitment to excellence and her passion for serving others. At the last moment, the public funding her scholarship depended on was unexpectedly cut off-a result of recent federal policy changes that reduced financial aid streams and college-access programs. The Trump administration's One Big Beautiful Bill Act and its associated budget actions
have eliminated key support programs like TRIO, Federal Supplemental Opportunity Grants (FSEOG), and work-study initiatives. Several university grant programs and loan assistance streams
have also been scaled back or terminated, increasing the financial burden on students and families. Because of this, Danielle now faces an urgent tuition shortfall of $11,000, due by August 29, 2025, or she risks being unable to continue her education.
Here's why your support matters:
- Danielle has demonstrated academic excellence - she's on the Dean's List and is an honor student.
- She's pursuing a Social Work degree, planning to serve her community and advocate for families
in need.
- This funding gap is not due to tuition increases or personal mismanagement-but to abrupt changes
in federal funding policy that impacted public universities across the country.
How your gift helps:
- Donations of any amount will go directly to Sacramento State to ensure Danielle can be registered for the upcoming semester.
- If you're unable to donate, please share this campaign with your network-every share increases our reach and potential support.
We are so grateful for every act of kindness-your encouragement and generosity would mean the world to us as Danielle works to keep moving forward.
