Help Daisy Get Seizure Treatment

Donation protected
Dear Friends,
Daisy has experienced seizures in some form for the last 8 years. At first they were so mild that most people wouldn’t even notice them. But over the last several years they got a lot more intense.

Last spring she had a seizure that was so intense we called 911. By the time the emergency personnel arrived, she was breathing normally and starting to be able to converse normally in between more mild seizures. We took her to the hospital, but of course there wasn’t much they could do for her in the emergency room.

Occasionally throughout the last year she had more of those really intense seizures. While she doesn’t remember them, it was really hard for the rest of us to see her body going through that trauma.

As you might imagine, we’ve tried a lot of things, including neurologist prescribed medication, supplements, and praying against any spiritual root we could think of. Early this year, Rachel was reaching a breaking point emotionally, so I moved my office home so I could be close by.

We put Daisy on a low carb diet, which has been really helpful for her. While she still has multiple seizures per day, they’re not the hard kind that was so traumatic for those of us around her.

Recently we also did several months of neurotherapy, which involves QEEG scans and then feedback based neurotherapy. She did not respond as well to the therapy as what the doctor anticipated, so we have discontinued it. This therapy was pretty expensive.

More recently we learned about a local Max Living chiropractic. They have had good success with quite a few seizure patients, and so we took Daisy for an initial assessment. After taking X-rays, they determined that the alignment at the top of her neck was bad, creating pressure at the brain stem.

Rather than only doing adjustments, Max Living will also prescribe exercise therapy with specialized equipment to train Daisy’s spine to stay in the right spot. While of course there is no guarantee, they believe there is a strong chance that they can get rid of the seizures.

Rather than a simple pay as you go like most chiropractors, Max Living requires you to sign up for the full 3-5 months of therapy, which comes out to $2,613. While it’s not a huge amount of money, it’s more than what we can swing right now. If you’d like to help make it possible, we’d be deeply grateful.

Thank you for your love and care.

Sincerely,
Craig & Rachel
