<div>This is a GoFundMe for Annamarie, a 39-year-old mother of four children aged 13, 16, 18, and 20. She is currently in desperate need of new lungs as a result of a lifelong disease called <strong>scleroderma</strong>. Scleroderma is an autoimmune disease that can affect the skin, blood vessels, and internal organs like the heart, lungs, and digestive system. Her lungs are currently working at 40% capacity, and without new lungs, that percentage will continue to drop.

<div>She is a loving, hardworking mother, but this disease has prevented her from being able to financially provide for herself and her children. She is currently living in a shelter, and as a result of not having stable housing, she has been denied a lung transplant <strong><em>three times</em></strong>. Transplant programs require patients to have stable housing and a support system because successful recovery depends heavily on consistent follow-up care, reliable contact, and the ability to manage complex post-transplant medication regimens for life.

<div><strong>Doctors have given Annamarie until January of 2026 to move into stable housing, or she will be faced with denial once again.</strong> Raising enough money or giving her a place where she and her children can live for at least one year is the only thing that will allow her to receive the transplant she so desperately needs.

<div>Funds raised will first support Annamarie in securing stable housing and cover costs associated with eligibility for her lung transplant. Any additional funds will be used to assist other homeless families in Long Island facing similar urgent medical and housing needs. 
</div>
