UPDATE: 12/16/24

Thank you for your support. My dad just received approval for Worker's Compensation three days ago and has received some retroactive back pay. He is back to work part-time, just 3 hours a day with work restrictions. I will be closing out the Go Fund Me the end of this month.

Hi, My name is Keona Knowlton and I am raising funds for my Dad, Gary Girard (Aka Mr.G) who was helping students (along with their parents) move into their dorms, while at work and he hit his head on a door jam of a parent's vehicle when he was unloading. The college had 137 students moving in that day.

My dad had to undergo emergency brain surgery due to the traumatic impact on both sides, of which he had internal bleeding in his brain and was hospitalized for a week at Maine Medical Center. He is now recovering but has no current income and waiting for financial help.
