<div>Many of us know Kevin and his service dog, Charlie. They have built a wonderful life together, and Charlie has been doing his duty in supporting &amp; protecting Kevin for over 5 years - Kevin got Charlie as a small puppy. If you don't know it, Kevin has a seizure disorder and these seizures can occur at any time and place without warning - Charlie is trained to sense Kevin's seizure. This gives Kevin the ability to prepare for the seizure, take his meds and get to a safe place. Charlie remains with Kevin throughout the seizure event, until Kevin comes around. Charlie is a gifted animal and has been a gift to Kevin and all that know him.

<div>As we all know, life can take some unexpected turns and that is exactly what has occurred with Charlie in Spring of this year - everyone was surprised to learn that the growing bump on Charlie's head is a type of terminal bone cancer. <strong>Kevin doesn't know how long he will continue to enjoy Charlie's presence in his life, but he is doing all he can to support Charlie with love and available medical care.</strong>

<div>Charlie was treated back in May with a series of radiation treatments over 5 days. The intent in this treatment was to reduce the size of the tumor, ease some of the discomfort Charlie was experiencing and to maximize his lifespan. It has been successful in doing all of those things - but it was expensive and there are more expenses to come - all of the past and subsequent treatments will be palliative as this is not curable.

<div>Charlie is and has been such an amazing friend to Kevin in both the way he cares for him, including day-to-day support and companionship. Kevin's deepest wish for Charlie is that he be as comfortable -for as a long as possible. <strong>Kevin and Charlie could use some help here, so I thought I would put this out there to see what we could do to support Charlie and Kevin in any and all ways possible - but cash will definitely help.</strong>
