Donate to CUTA Hardship Fund

We are CUTA, Cabrillo Unified Teachers Association, and we are dishearten to be on strike. Please HELP those CUTA members who are on the picket line instead of the classroom where they would rather be. Some teachers are the sole financial providers for their families. Others are new and at the lowest end of the pay scale. The CUTA HARDSHIP FUND is being created to help those dedicated teachers stay afloat while striking for better pay and benefits.

We are the teachers and counselors who work with students every school day. We love our students and love teaching on the Coastside. However, many of us are unable to stay on the Coast. The lack of a COLA (Cost of Living Adjustment) from Cabrillo Unified School District for 3 years has caused an attrition of teachers and counselors out of Coastside classrooms. Teachers and counselors want to be in the classroom. We were so close, but the Cabrillo Unified School District bargaining team just couldn't move the needle far enough.

Please give whatever you can to the CUTA HARDSHIP FUND. All money collected will go to CUTA teachers and counselors who apply for a scholarship. No money will be used for strike materials. This is just a way to help those CUTA members who need help, while trying to make teaching on the Coastside possible.
