My name is Cheryl and with the encouragement from friends and family, I have started this page.

A little bit about me: I'm 45, married, have a wonderful stepdaughter, and live in Concord, NC. I've always been an optimistic, glass-half-full kind of chick. I like to see the best in people and make the most out of life. Recently, though, I've had a paradigm shift.

I have incurred several health problems over the years. I was in a brutal car accident when I was 19. While I made a good recovery after many months of PT, the long-term effects are now coming to fruition. I have constant back pain now and some gnarly PTSD and anxiety. In addition to this, I have been diagnosed with 2 forms of cancer earlier this year: esophageal and colorectal. It's been a major blow to my mental, emotional, and physical well-being. I've also had severe pain in my legs, which has impaired my ability to walk. After testing and imaging, it turns out I have tumors on the bones in my legs; they are benign but cause me pain nonetheless.

I'm not one to ask for monetary help, but bills are piling up and I'm having difficulty paying for essentials. I do have a full-time job, but benefits aren't too great. Any help is greatly appreciated.
