<div>Hi my name is Bren and I’m on here to help raise money so I can continue to take care of my brother, let me explain..My brother who has a mental disability came to stay with me in Jan of this year, he had hopes of getting his own apartment and living independently, I offered to help him do that. In March he fell off a stool and when I took him to the hospital they examined him and found he had broken 2 bones, upon further examination they discovered he had stage 4 lung cancer, and by the end of his hospital stay they diagnosed him with an aggressive small cell cancer that had progressed already throughout his entire body to include his bones ( this is why they broke so easy) his spine and his brain.  When we got home I immediately began taking care of him, I even crushed up dandelions, made tea and fed it to him.  He began treatment right away and for the most part his body responded to treatment, although after about 4 months the doctors noticed the mass in his lung is shrinking but not the cancer in the other areas.  So he was referred to VCU Massey Cancer Center for a new treatment with a medication that is more effective.  He had has 1 treatment so far and has experienced some side effects but we are hopeful with the next rounds his body will respond and he will begin to feel better.  I am on here as a last resort, taking care of my brother has put a financial burden on me.  I work for myself as a cleaner, I clean residential homes and I have lost nearly half of my clients due to taking care of my brother and his needs.  He has been hospitalized several times, and I have to make myself available to be with him because he does not completely understand the medical jargon so I have to break everything down for him.  I have basically been his caregiver and as a result cannot work as much and my bills are extremely behind.  My car was repossessed about 2 months ago, I have been driving my daughter’s car which she so graciously lent me because she works from home.  I never thought to do something like start a go fund me but I’m about to lose my house and I don’t want to jeopardize my brother’s care.  I’m just trying to work and take care of my brother who I dearly love, I don’t know how long he has with this debilitating disease but however long I aim to keep taking care of him and keeping him as healthy as possible.
