Too many Black lives have been stolen by white supremacy
by police brutality
by pure acts of hatred
Too many Black lives are at risk and in danger
everyday
when they go to the park
go for a jog
or sit in their home
Too many Black people will not have another birthday
simply because of their race.
And too many of us are silent.
Myself included. I have not done enough. I have contributed to the problem.
I have a goal to raise $25,000 for the NAACP by my 25th birthday on July 7. I know; that's a lot. And yet, it is still not enough. It does not and will not undo hundreds of years of oppression and racism.
White people - like myself - should not expect Black people to fight a war that was created by white people.
This is our mess. We need to do more. We have to do more.
So, I ask you to make a donation and help raise $25,000 to support Black lives, Black justice, and the end to a systemically racist society.
However, my bigger ask is that you do something. And that you take a stand to end racism. There is no other time. It is now. We must act now.
