<div>Joe has had quite the year and it is time to reach out to our Prayer Warriors and seek financial blessings for him.

<div>Joe's Mom ( my Aunt) was diagnosed with Throat Cancer June 16th, then his long time partner Carrie was diagnosed with Cancer on July 2nd she passed away suddenly August 17th of the same year (2024) They had been together for 11 years. Joe went to EL Paso Texas to see what he can do for her and arrived on Thanksgiving Day after having his Uncle stayed with her for 6 weeks and then Aunt took over to assist with her care. We are thankful for Aunt Kathy's siblings for thier time and support. His Mom went into home hospice just after Thanksgiving, broke her hip and went into a home just after Christmas and passed March 7th 2025. With his Father passing in 2021, and being an only child he was left with nothing and ended up losing his home in Chicago and then his job as well due to his extended time in Texas and was unable to maintain living costs between the 2 homes. He had worked with his employer as a private contractor for 20 yrs and rented a place from his employer for 12 years. Thankfully his previous employer/ landlord agreed to have his home packed up and shipped to Texas . Joe is currently without medical insurance , a job, and even though he has his mother's house which he has her mortgage of $400 plus utilities he has exhausted his savings and is unsure what he can do. Unfortunately his story hasn't ended there.

<div>In June he called his Aunt despite having no medical insurance to take him to the emergency room because he suspected a heart attack. This was an early warning and the Drs gave him 3 stents one being The Widow Maker. Within 2 weeks he went back into the emergency room with chest pains , breathing issues, not sleeping, and extreme anxiety. There they discovered a prescription error that they caused 2 weeks prior and also added additional meds for his mental health. A few weeks passed and Joe kept telling us that he still didn't feel right and was readmitted again and this time Chest CT and other tests were ran. After reviewing those tests he was cleared of any lung issues but Drs noticed a mass on his kidney the size of a grape or 1/3 of his kidney which resulted in Renal Cell Carcinoma of the kidney. That's right, CANCER ! And this is all happening after his medical bills have stacked up to $250,000 .As you can imagine out of pocket expenses have more than maxed him out and now he has to find a way to have this newest cancer diagnosis treated. The hospital he was at discharged him due to no insurance. He is looking into assistance but does still have to feed himself, save the house he is living in, take care of his 2 beloved dogs and hang onto any sanity he has left.

<div>His son Jake is visiting him from Chicago and as of today will be there 2 weeks with the plan to leave at the end of July due to his own employment. He has been able to dog sit during Joe's recent hospital stay. But of course there is still so much need for Joe and I am hoping I can provide him with a successful fundraiser.
