As many of you know, Bernadette was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 – Triple Negative Breast Cancer. She found the lumps during a self-breast exam and reached out to her doctor promptly to get it worked up. Unfortunately, this diagnosis comes with several months of chemotherapy, side effects, medication regimens, doctor appointments, and surgery of some sort once the chemo is complete. She will also need additional chemotherapy after surgery. She has a long road ahead.

For those who know Bernadette, she is a self-reliant, strong woman. She is recently divorced and has her 2 children: Dakota (14) and Colton (10), who always come first in her life. She has her 2 beloved horses and 3 dogs as well. As a hospice nurse, she consistently puts other people’s needs before her own. She is determined to continue to work full-time and support them all through the ups and downs of fighting this cancer.

As her friends and family, we want to help and support Bernadette in any way we can. Some help with kid transportation to activities, some with doctor appointments and treatments, some with making meals, but many have asked if they can give money to help. This GoFundMe page is for that purpose. We want to be sure Bernadette can take the time off work if she needs to but still be able to support her family and just to take time to heal. The funds will also help her pay for any additional costs this treatment brings with it, including the new copays for treatments at the beginning of next year, gas for going to/from appointments, and anything not covered by her insurance.
