<div>My name is Bianca, I am reaching out for support for my beautiful and selfless sister Alivia and our family during this difficult time. You may or may not know my sister Alivia, who is 25 years young. She is a daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, fiancé, and the best and dear friend of so many. She is the most loving, strong, caring, driven, and selfless person I have ever known.

<div>Alivia was born with a rare condition called gastroschisis, which required immediate surgery the day she was born. The doctors warned us that she might not survive, and if she did, she might not live past her first year because of the complexity of her condition, her doctors had to remove more of her small intestine than anticipated, which led to a new diagnosis: short bowel syndrome.

<div>With short bowel syndrome, her body cannot absorb the nutrients she needs to survive. As a result, Alivia has been on TPN (total parenteral nutrition) and tube feeding every day since birth, which has taken a toll on her health. Over the years, the continuous treatments and medications have led to liver cirrhosis, and now her kidneys are struggling too.

<div>She was scheduled to receive a multivisceral transplant for her bowel and liver in 2024. However, in September, she developed a central line infection that damaged her heart and lungs, and now she also needs a mitral valve replacement. Many hospitals have refused to perform the surgery due to the high risks, but Alivia and our family are pleading for a chance to save her life.

<div>Our family’s lives have been turned upside down with this emotional roller coaster, and the financial burden has been overwhelming as bills keep rising. Our family has relocated to be by Alivia’s side in Baltimore, and we will continue to stand by her side no matter what or where. <strong>We are humbly asking for any support as we face this long journey with Alivia as she has been and will be hospitalized for quite some time. Please help us save our girl! </strong>
