This is difficult, given issues like putting down "first month and last month" rent and a deposit (which is standard, in the US.). Also -- Al has been living off-the-grid enough that he has no credit score (or at least just a minimal one.) So you can imagine the challenges.

<div>Hello All – I’m sharing an update from Vicki. She’s grateful to see all the donations already made to Al, especially when reading the names of friends near and far who have provided support.

<div>But she says that Al has to leave his current space by January 1st. If anyone is on the fence about donating, she’s hoping you’ll understand the urgency of the situation.

<div>We want to thank everyone who has donated to the fund to support Al’s need for new housing and his fight to get his archive back. Thank you also to those who have helped to publicize this campaign.

<div>The “GoFundMe” platform set the initial goal at $2400.

<div>We don’t know what the costs of moving, rent; and legal assistance will be. Therefore, we’re going to increase the “GoFundMe” goal. Our hope is that word of this fundraiser will spread and new people will be motivated to help.

<div>We are reaching out to find pro bono legal help in Florida. Vicki Bornas, Al’s longtime partner, is his unpaid caretaker, who has had to forego work in order to look after Al. She is overseeing the use of the funds.

At the same time, <strong>Al needs new housing and must cover moving expenses</strong>.
