I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to share the story of a devoted mother, Zakiya Thornton, who is now fighting for her life after a tragic car accident on the evening of Tuesday, May 20th, 2025. Zakiya, a hardworking mother of two young children, suffered catastrophic injuries in the crash—including a broken femur, sacrum, and pelvis, collapsed lungs, a lacerated liver, and a brain bleed. She has undergone multiple surgeries, including the removal of parts of her small and large intestines, and has required five blood transfusions. She remains in critical condition, drifting in and out of consciousness, while doctors work around the clock to stabilize her. Her prognosis is still uncertain.

Prior to the accident, Zakiya was employed and working hard to build a better future for her children. Now, her family is facing an unimaginable crisis. Her medical expenses have already exceeded $600,000, and resources to support her children’s daily needs are running dangerously low.

We are asking for your help.
