Donate to Aid Yagi-Affected Families in Vietnam

Donation protected
My name is Hien Nguyen. My sister is currently in Ha Noi, Vietnam participating directly in distributing food, water, utilities, stationaries to those in need in Tuyen Quang, Vietnam and Lao Cai, Vietnam.

Below are photos taken by my sister of people who woke up at 3am to carry all the supplies and bring it to town for people who are in need. Some places were covered in mud so people had to commute by boats to drop the supplies to each house.

In continuality of her group’s mission, my proposal is for fundraising $10,000 to support the Yagi storm-affected families in Lao Cai in northern Vietnam and ensure that every single dime will reach and help the affected families.

Period: Donation will end 15:00 Sunday, September 29, 2024 (PST), and will be delivered to Hanoi, Vietnam the next day morning, Monday, September 30th,2024 (PST).
Typhoon Yagi, Asia’s second most powerful and severe storm in the last 30 years, has swept across northern Vietnam and Southeast Asia, leaving devastation in its wake and dozens dead. Demolished homes, shattered lives, and countless families are now struggling to even have food, water, shelter, and daily necessities to rebuild their lives. In supporting these initiatives, the fundraising for the proposal seeks to secure aid and contribute to comprehensive restoration and recovery that will address immediate needs, such as food/ safe drinking water shortages, shelters, daily basic necessities, vital disruption services as well as long-term resilience to those affected provincial communities.

Yagi storm has left a catastrophic trail mark on Lao Cai, especially those in small provincial suburb areas where old stilt houses are made from wood logs and trees. Damages consist of:
• Infrastructure; severely impacted roads, schools, and homes that are in critical condition or completely destroyed.
• All agricultural losses; affected food resources and the financial security of many farmers who are agriculture-base.
• Affected families’ immediate hardships; including, but not limited to, lack of shelters, food shortages and some other basic needs.

The road to recovery is long and will require much more than any small single proposal. However, even the smallest contribution can make a difference in supporting those in need. We need to work together to overcome the immediate hardships and acquire funds to start rebuilding homes and restore livelihoods in affected communities.

My primary goal is to raise $10,000 to support the following causes in critical areas:
1. Emergency Relief (60%): Provide safe drinking water, food supplies, medical aid, temporary shelters and essential daily necessities such as personal hygiene, products, clothing, bedding to as many people as we can.
2. Home reconstruction (20%): Ensuring families safety and durable places to live.
3. The remaining 20% will support farmers/ small business to recover and thrive again, including seed provisions and small business grants.
By contributing to this fundraising, you are playing a critical role in directly aiding and promoting economic recovery to affected families and restoring hope and faith in humanity. This distribution percentage plan is tentative and subject to change depending on needs which may require immediate attention.
If coffins are needed, please note this will go to the emergency relief percentage plan.
Again, any contribution, no matter the size, makes a significant difference in people lives there.

Your donation will be sent over to a private account (not a charity organization/church), which will then be distributed to Yagi-affected victims in Lao Cai, Vietnam.
All food/ water/ shelters/ essential necessities transactions and detailed utilization of the funds will be recorded and updated regularly and appropriately. Rest assured that every single dollar you donate will be reported and reach those in needs.
Thank you for your consideration and kind support.
