On April 1st, I was woken at 3:43am to a call from my mother saying my step-dad (Papa) was being sent via ambulance to the hospital.

My heart sank. After heading north to meet my mother, upon arrival I was told he had suffered a heart attack. My papa! The world's most honest man!

We were then informed he was being transferred from Thayer Hospital to Portland Maine Medical Center. Back in the car we go.

There was a lot of unknown at this point. We got down to Maine Medical around 8am. Before we got to see Papa, they rushed him into a procedure room to place a stent. In the mix of all of this, his heart stopped. HIS HEART STOPPED!

I am thankful to the amazing hospital staff that were able to get him stable. He remained in the hospital until today, April 3rd.

Papa has a long road to recovery and will be going back and forth to appointments with the cardiologist. He will be doing a Cardiac Rehab program.

For once in his life, Papa is willing to accept help as he will be out of work for some time. He has always been there for others and it's time for others to be there for him.
