Tragic Accident Amputates 22 Year Old's Fingers

Donation protected

This young family of 3, soon to be 4, has gone through so much this past year.

Austin (22) works very hard for a local construction company, but has been in an accident at his home while completing a small home improvement project causing the amputation of the 1st TWO fingers on his dominant hand. Unfortunately, Austin is not eligible for any disability benefits through his job, due to recently switching from a different construction company and few months prior to this accident. This means no income while he is off of work and recovering from his injuries. He has a strong work ethic and bought his first house at 21 years old with his own savings. By middle school, he was working on the neighbors farm. His career goal is to return to construction when he can, as this is his passion. His face beams when he completes a project, knowing that he built something with his own 2 hands, and his hard work.

Alexis (21) works part time as a virtual office assistant, and stay at home mom.

The family is patiently awaiting the arrival of baby boy #2 in April.

Austin will be unable to return to work for several months to allow for healing, rehabilitation, reacclimation and adaption to his injuries. Relearning how to use his dominant hand and adapting to using his non dominanthand for his tools required in his every day job, and everyday life.

Incidentally this family suffered a total loss of their garage/workshop earlier this year including a work truck, lawn mower, many power tools and all the things you have in your garage. The young family did not let this get them down but chose to keep their chin up, adapt and overcome slowly working on replacing what items were necessary as they can, borrowing a lawn mower for the summer and trailer to use for work until they can replace the truck.

Family and friends have already come up with a plan to complete the home improvement project for the family before the new baby arrives.

We are asking for prayers and if you are able to make any monetary donation, it will be to help with his medical bills, mortgage payments, and anything else the young family may need assistance with while he is recovering.

We are grateful to God and all of his blessings knowing that things could have been worse, but we would be appreciative for any help at this difficult time.
