Gladys and Adell fought tirelessly to ensure their brother received the care he required. Putting their lives on hold to be by their brother's side, they battled the healthcare system to make sure Dons' needs were met. Don was transported from Corpus Christi to Lufkin, TX where he resided in a hospice residency until he was called home on the evening of November 24th, 2020.
For the people who loved and knew Don, they knew his resourcefulness and sense of humor could whittle him out of even the most difficult of situations. Don was determined to advocate for himself up until his last days. He spent his time beguiling those around him with his sharp wit and humor.
For the many who have asked, “how can I help?” Any donation to help cover medical bills and funeral costs will be greatly appreciated. As a homeless member of society, Don had very little to his name upon his passing. Any remaining bills have become the responsibility of the family to settle. We are grateful for even the smallest of donations. Once we've reached our goal, any additional funds will be donated to a non-profit organization focused on supporting folks without housing.
