</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>ViG MEN es mi respuesta a esa mentira.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>

<div><strong>ENGLISH</strong>

<div><br />
</div>
<div>My name is Sofía. I am a photographer and animal rights activist based in Mexico City.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am currently finalizing a photography project I have been working on for almost three years. The project is called ViG MEN and was born from a personal need to do more for animals. It began as my master’s thesis in photography and, over time, evolved into a body of work with a strong visual, ethical, and social dimension.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This project started when I learned that nearly 80% of vegans worldwide are women. Although I didn't expect this imbalance to be so big, it also led me to question why so few men choose veganism. Through my research, I discovered how the animal agriculture industry has long associated meat consumption with masculinity, strength, and virility, creating the belief that without animal products, men cannot be strong or “man enough.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>ViG MEN is my response to that lie.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Through portraits and personal testimonies of strong, vegan men, this project challenges those narratives and shows that health, strength, and masculinity do not require violence or exploitation. On the contrary, it proposes a different vision of masculinity: one rooted in compassion, protection, and respect for the most vulnerable.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Today, animals endure extreme injustice. They are objectified, exploited, and killed for human consumption, reduced to commodities with no autonomy, freedom, or voice. With this book, I aim to create a strong, visual testimony, communicating and inspiring another way to live, one that does not normalize violence or finance suffering.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I created this GoFundMe to cover a part of the printing costs of the book and take this message beyond screens and social media, allowing it to exist as a tangible object that can inform, inspire, create conversations and motivate action.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The project features collaborations with big vegan male figures such as Torre Washington and John Thomas, includes a written contribution by activist Robbie Locke, and is complemented by a carefully curated plant-based menu created in collaboration with a Mexican plant-based chef.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any support you can offer, whether financial or by sharing this campaign, is deeply appreciated.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Additionally, 10% of the proceeds from the book sales will be donated to animal rights organizations and sanctuaries.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for your time to read me, your support, and for choosing to turn your attention toward animals.
</div>
