Don't leave me in the Dark!

Fire season is here.  I recently moved to a high fire area.  They found PG&E responsible for some serious fires in the past.  So, they purposely turn off electricity to prevent fires, sometimes for days at a time.  Some of my friends have been without power for over a week.  Recently they turned off the power for 6 hours and it was then that I realized how much I need a generator. I live in a small town and when power is out everything is closed.  I couldn't even get something to eat from the gas station because they had no power either. Losing power doesn't just mean I'll have to sit in the dark, but I won't have power to my refrigerator, I can't cook anything, or use my stove & oven because they run on electricity. 
My main concern is that I will lose all the food in my refrigerator and freezer.  I want to at least be able to power that. Generators are expensive and I can't afford one that will power a household refrigerator and some household appliances.  I live paycheck to paycheck and might be taking a 10% pay cut soon.  Please if you can donate, anything will help!  Thank you!
