Dom's treatment for Leukemia

Donation protected
On Thursday, June 15th Dominic Egan went to the hospital and was diagnosed with Leukemia (ALL). His platelet count was so low that he could not be transported safely. After the medical staff raised his platelet level he was transported to Sacramento for treatment. He began his first round of chemo on the following day.

Since then we have learned that his acute lymphoblastic leukemia is complicated by the Philadelphia chromosome. This means that in addition to the chemo rounds, he will require a bone marrow transplant or cord blood transplant.

Dom and his wife Cassandra are thankful for having coverage via the Affordable Care Act, but his lost wages and the deductibles they will encounter for the hospital stay and treatment are beyond their means. Additionally his mother, and brother live in the UK and his sister in Asia. It is expected that his siblings will be tested for bone marrow donor match. Flights for the family to see their son would be appropriate. Hence this asking for assistance via GoFundMe is to cover his lost wages, medical bills and family transportation.

Dom is loved by so many in the community and his warm presence is missed in Sonoma County. We are all pulling for him to make a full recovery so once again we'll experience his endless kindness and selflessness.
