May 29 Update:
While many of you have seen the news coverage regarding the criminal case regarding Dominique's murder, please know that this campaign is purely about supporting her children. The funds will only be used to create a trust or other fund to be able to support these kids now that their mother is gone. This campaign is being run by friends of the family and has local church oversight to care for TyKez, Jadarius, Kyasia, and Lanyjiah. The family has been reluctant to ask for anything like this and is overwhelmed by the love, but their friends and family have insisted that we give the community an opportunity to help in this horrible situation.
May 24 Update:
Thank you for the outpouring of support. This is so wonderful for these heartbroken children. Some have asked why the fundraising goal is so low, and that is because the family does not want anyone to feel pressured. This is being run by friends of the family, and every dollar will go to these kids' benefit. Dominique had two jobs to support these kids, so they will need all the help they can get now through college. So, we are all so happy that we can help support them in some way.
Dominique "Lucy" Clayton loved her four children more than life itself, and, when she was taken from us on Sunday
, her two boys and two girls were left without a mother.
These kids are TyKez (14), Jadarius (8), Kyasia (10), and Lanyjiah (12).
This campaign is being run by friends of Dominique's purely to support these kids for the long haul. Dominique's mother, sisters, and other family were hesitant to even allow this, but the community wants to stand up for these children. The funds will be used to ensure that her family is not burdened with any costs associated with this tragedy.
But, the real goal is to ensure that these children are taken care of, both now and until adulthood.
Thank you to Anna Gibbs and the Oxford Eagle for helping us share this fundraiser. Read Anna's story here: https://www.oxfordeagle.com/2019/05/24/gofundme-started-for-dominique-claytons-children/
