Dominic's Journey with Osteosarcoma

Dominic Watkins is 18 years old and is battling his 3rd recurrence with osteosarcoma, a rare form of pediatric cancer. He is a senior at Monroe High School in Monroe, Ohio. He previously went to school in Anderson Township Ohio. From the time he was young he has been athletic. Most recently, he was a member of the Monroe High School basketball team, the Monroe Hornets, until cancer got in his way. He has been struggling with this illness since his initial diagnosis in July 2015, and has had lengthy interventions including chemotherapy and radiation at Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati. He just recently had surgery at Cleveland Clinic in which the leg with the cancer was amputated. He is just beginning rehabilitation and further treatment. Dominic has written a book with Smile Books called Dominic’s Best Game. In this book, he expressed his positive attitude about beating his cancer, and living life to the fullest degree possible. Dominic is a very courageous young man.
