Dominick Aiden Barrett was born on February 15, 2005 in Tacoma, WA to the proud parents of Rico and Jill Barrett. Dom grew up a sweet, loving, smart boy. He loved his family, singing, art, and school. He participated in choir and loved to perform in school plays.
Dom was a great artist and storyteller, illustrating small stories on YouTube that he shared with his family. Dom was serious and driven, working hard to get straight A's in school. He always tried his best at everything he did. He also had a silly side, laughing and having fun with his older sister Emma and younger brother Julien. Dom was a huge animal lover and loved cuddling and taking care of his two dogs and two cats. Family and friends were very important to Dom.
At age 10, Dom lost his mom to breast cancer. It was a devastating loss for him and his family.
On March 29, at age 16, Dom was taken from this life too soon as a result of a brain aneurysm. Doctors believe he was born with this condition. He was not in pain, but the pain of our loss is unbearable. Dom will live on through the many lives he will save with the gift of his organ donations.
Dom, we will miss your smile, your voice, your kindness, and your bravery. We find comfort knowing that your mom was waiting to welcome you with open arms in heaven.
