Dominica State College Recovery

Dominica State College , the only public college on the island of Dominica, has been completely demolished by Hurricane Maria.  Not only are the school's 2000 students without an educational institution, but most are homeless, with minimal food and water long term.

Dominica State College's President, Dr. Donald C. Peters, an alumnus of Northeastern University and University of Massachuetts at Amherst, is seeking contributions from friends and family willing to support efforts to reopen some of the campus's classrooms and to provide resources to some of the college's students and staff.

The pictures below are just a glimpse of the destruction endured.  Most spaces lack windows, roofs, and doors; the water damage is so extensive that little can be salvaged, including all of the school's technology.

We know that there are many communities seeking assistance after the tragic weather events that have occured in recent weeks.  Please consider supporting the Dominica State College community as they commit to rebuilding against the odds.
