Dominica's summer abroad!

Donation protected
Hello family and friends!

I have been living in New York City for nearly two years since graduating from University of North Carolina School of the Arts in 2016. This time has been hugely rewarding for me - I have received incredible opportunities and have been able to connect with many inspiring and influential artists.

As I continue to build my portofolio as a dance artist, it is essential that I expand my skill set and broaden my network of contacts. Though the US dance scene has a lot to offer and I know that I can and will still learn so much from the vast diversity of artists that are based here, I am very interested in a lot of choreographers overseas. I have therefore decided to travel to Europe this coming summer to attend a highly acclaimed festival in Berlin, Germany, called B12.

B12 is an annual workshop series hosted by the world renowned choreographers Johannes Wieland and Evangelos Poulinas. Every year they invite some of Europe's most sought after artists to lead workshops as part of this festival, and dancers from all over the world travel to Berlin to participate.
Due to its acclaim and success, B12 is a prime opportunity to connect with these artists and work in the studio with them.

As rewarding as it has been to live and work in New York for the past year and a half, it has also been a big challenge to find a balance between working to cover my living expenses and my artistic endeavors and development. Being an artist in New York is not easily sustainable and I have had to work a lot of side jobs to earn extra money.

All of this being said, it will be very hard for me to afford this exciting opportunity of traveling to Berlin and attending this festival all on my own. I have saved quite a bit on my own, and will continue to save, however I have a lot to cover considering air fare, tuition, and living expenses.
I  would, therefore, like to ask for your help by making a small contribution to my GoFundMe campaign. I understand that times are hard, and most of my friends are struggling artists as well, so no pressure at all. Any little bit helps, and I feel confident that everything will work out.
I will be hugely grateful for any donation and am already so grateful for all that my family and friends have done to get me to where I am now! I hope you will support my further development as a dance artist by helping me to attend this years edition of B12 in Berlin.

Thank you and lots of love,
Dominica
