These kids in Uganda need your help to obtain a better education. It isn't fair for any human being to have to learn on the floor, and we are here to change that.
We are the DI team MAGIK and we need your help to provide desks for these amazing kids.

Every desk costs $40, and our current goal is 150 desks.
Every penny donated goes directly to buying desks to help these amazing kids further their education.

DI stands for "Destination Imagination," which is an educational non-profit program & competition that teaches creativity and collaborative problem solving to students from K-12.
Our DI team's name is MAGIK, which stands for Miracles Are Greatest In Kindness. This is our 2nd year participating in DI, and we chose Service Learning as our project category. In Service Learning you are tasked with helping to create a difference in the community, whether local or global.
This year we chose to help kids in Uganda that have a pretty terrible classroom environment. We partnered with the Kamukama Foundation to provide desks for the kids at the Ebenezer School. In the picture above, students are kneeling on the hard ground while using their bench to write on. When the teacher is talking, they sit down on the bench, until they have to write again.
Each desk fits about 3-4 kids. We don't know what they look like, but these desks have been picked especially for the Ebenezer School by the Kamukama Foundation. It may not seem like it, but having a desk benefits your learning tremendously. It provides comfort, is essential for simplicity when learning, and allows the kids to focus on the class, not on the hard floor. Ultimately, the biggest benefit: a better education.
