Dollars for Dhankuta Nepal

Tax deductible
My name is Tauna-Louise Ainslie RN,I am an Australian ER/ICU nurse, the last 18 in Hawaii in a trauma centre at the Queens Medical Center Honolulu. In 2009 I volunteered 3 months on the USNS Comfort, a civilian aboard this naval hospital ship delivering humanitarian medical aid to 7 countries. This started my journey.
Since then with Aloha Medical Mission, I volunteered to Myanmar(Burma) in 2015 and 2016, and Nepal 2017.
Times are tough globally and personally, we pay our passage, donate our time, and all extraneous costs incurred. This is not fundraising for our personal costs.  We leave October 18th, so all of that is done. Everything we need we must take. Medical supplies, medications, anesthesia machines, down to the last bandage,IV,gloves, panadol(tylenol) and when we run out there is none. Seeing these Nepalese people handle post operative pain without our western world dependence on drugs, with full grace and nary a whimper,  the most humbling experience of my life to date. The scope of our excess baggage is enormous, and this year we have a shortfall in our fundraising to cover this.
Our mission leader, Dr Bikash Gupta MD, raises us above our first world difficulties of 15+ hour days, basic living conditions, exhaustion, and heartache. Humbled to our core as nothing compares to the lives of the Nepalese,  whom have never and will never be able to access basic medical care, let alone surgery, except for the few we and other organizations can deliver.
My initial goal was to raise enough to cover our huge shortfall for our excess baggage. The extraordinary Australian school boy whom initiated 'Fiver for a Farmer', and his success for our record drought stricken farmers has motivated my quest to think bigger. If more is raised we can donate to the hospital we will use in Dhankuta for more people to access medical care after we leave.
AMM delivers humanitarian medical aid across the world, and also at home in Hawaii. Making affordable health care for the neediest, and least able to pay a reality for the Hawaiian people.
It is my honour and privilege to be a part of this extraordinary organization.
If you can spare a dollar or five, confident it will go directly to the needy Nepalese people, then you will directly help us improve their quality of life immeasurably.
Please share and share and share, to help us help others.
Aloha,cheers and Namaste
Tauna
