Hi close friends,
As you all know by now, this Friday is Jenine's surprise birthday party. Jenine has never had a surprise party thrown for her, so I wanted to do something extra special (with the sincere and incredible help of her sister Lauren and her boyfriend Julian).
One of the things that is near and dear to both Jenine and my heart and to our relationship, is music. At the center of our musical inspiration is one very enchanting festival called Bottle Rock in Napa Valley (you all need to go!). The music, the food, the surroundings and of course the people make for such a special weekend every year. Each year, our favorite show to attend by far is Michael Franti. His music is full of positive energy and he truly excites the crowd like no other artist we know. To us, Michael's music embodies everything that is great about our relationship, and for me, about Jenine personally. This past year at the festival, we were lucky enough to meet Michael and his beautiful wife Sara. We became friends instantly, and Jenine and Sara have stayed in close contact since.
We invited our friends Sara and Michael to the party. And...to make the evening extra special for Jenine, Michael is going to play a sunset show from 6-7:30pm (so don't be late!).
To say thanks to Michael, and more importantly, to do something very special for humanity, I invite you to consider donating to Sara and Michael's charity, Do it For The Love. Jenine and I have gotten the pleasure to see first hand how Do It For The Love works and how the power of music can heal people that need it the most.
Do It For The Love is a wish-granting nonprofit organization that brings people living with life-threatening illnesses, children with severe challenges and wounded veterans to live concerts. Through the healing power of music, their goal is to inspire joy, hope and lasting celebratory memories in the face of severe illness or trauma.
So with all that said, I am setting an aggressive but hopefully a realistic goal of $10,000! I hope we can crush this goal as it will help so many people who are sick get to experience something so inspiring and help them through their healing process. Please don't feel any pressure to give at all. I am just trying to figure out a way to make something even more amazing happen for others on what will already be a very special night for Jenine with all of you, her close friends, in attendance.
