Our eight year old daugher Alice Valerie Chastain was diagnosed with an agressive malignant Anaplastic Ependymoma Brain Tumor on 6/1/2017.  The Tumor was 6cm x 6cm located in the Epidural space between the skull and brain.  The Surgeon at AI Dupont succesfully removed all of the Tumor and the Marginal areas.  Alice however will still need to recieve Focused Proton Radiation Therapy Treatments to eliminate and starve off the growth of any remaining Cancerous Cells. Alice will need more MRIs and other tests in the near future to ensure Tumorous growths do not return.  All donations and proceeds will go towards co-pays, medical treatments, and gas to get her to and from her Radiantion Treatments at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).  Alice is a very strong and smart little girl.  Her wide smile, laughter, and zest for life have touched friends, family, and all those who have meet her along the way.  When she went under for surgery to have the Tumor removed we were warned that there was a strong chance that she may not be able to speak or move the right side of her body.  All those that were by her side when she awoke were astonished to see her immediatly speak and move around immediatly after Surgery.  We are truly blessed that we did not loss any of our Alice that day.  Even the Drs and Nurses stood there drop-jawed and marveled at how well she was doing after the surgery; passing all Cognitive Ability Tests with flying colors.  There are still hurdles to overcome as mentioned in the above; Co-Pays, MRIs, Tests, Gas for treatment trips.  Any donation of any amount will immediatly go towards Alice's continuing recovery and battle against cancer.  Alice and her family are truly grateful for any donnations that will be recieved.  Our hearts also go out to all those who have lost or have had a loved one battling Cancer.
